Award Winning Detoxifying Pink Clay Mask

Award Winning Detoxifying Pink Clay Mask

If you’re an Instagram addict like myself more than likely you will have seen or heard of Alya skin. If not they are known for their award winning pink clay mask which is said to detoxify and brighten skin whilst also helping with skin repair even for those with skin conditions such as acne, and eczema.

Who Are Alya Skin?

Alya skin is based in Australia and are the winners of the coveted NZ best in beauty award 2019.

Although Alya skin might be most well known for their detoxifying pink clay mask, this most certainly isn’t where their skincare range ends. They have a whole range of vegan and cruelty free skincare suitable for sensitive skin types. Plus all of their products are boosted with the power of their Australian Clay.

Pink Clay Mask

I was exceptionally kindly gifted this pink clay mask which usually retails at £59.99 and is currently on sale at a more reasonable £29.99. The mask claims to be able to extract dirt and pollutants from the skin whilst brightening and tightening the skin, minimising the appearance of pores.

Their website and social media feature multiple incredible skin transformations where the mask has improved the skin of many people suffering with a range of skin problems from eczema to acne.

How to Apply The Pink Clay Mask

All masks are best applied to cleansed skin, you can find my tips on how to get the most out of your face mask here.

Follow your skin cleanse with a gentle facial exfoliation removing any dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Revealing fresh new skin and removing any excess impurities, this will improve the efficacy of the mask.

Apply the clay mask all over your face avoiding eye areas using the flat part of your fingers or a clean foundation/face mask brush. Apply the mask to only the T-zone if you require as this is the oiliest part of the face. In order to nourish your eye areas use an eye balm or mask if you have one in this area whilst the mask is on the rest of the face. Leave the mask for 5-10 minutes.

Top Tip: Although it is fun to watch clay masks fully dry out and crumble. This is usually a sign that your skin underneath has fully dried out. I would suggest leaving the mask for only 5 minutes and washing off with a hot cloth before dryness occurs.

Finish the ritual off by removing the mask with a hot cloth. Followed by sweeping a refreshing toner over the skin with a pad.

My Opinions and Results

I’ve only used this mask once, so I at this point cannot comment on the long term effects of the mask; however first impressions were great. I was very pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the clay mask felt on the skin. Even after it started to dry and there was a slight tightening effect the mask did not seem to completely dry down to a crumbly mess.

The mask was easy to apply with a light fragrance but I didn’t have any issues with irritation. Following removing the mask my skin felt instantly smoother and like new skin. My skin looked glowing and felt firm. I do believe it contributed to the fast repair of my blemishes over a period of a week; using the mask twice daily. I think the mask is a really pleasant one and great for all skin types. However, if I was to re-purchase I would be looking out for a sale or discount code before buying.
