It features over 30 different combinations to help you achieve the best performing moisturiser tailored specifically to your skin’s needs. In 3 simple steps you can choose your combination from 6 different bases and 6 different treatment cartridges which each include active ingredients. This moisturiser works by a pump mechanism which dispenses the perfect amount of your targeted treatment into your moisturising base.
Personally when I first saw Clinique ID I thought it was genius. Not only does it allow you to select a moisturiser to your unique requirements; but it is ultimately a cheaper alternative to having both individual serum and moisturiser for those on a budget. Retailing at just £38 I think this is a fantastic choice for anyone’s skin routine. Due to its very reasonable price and how well it lends itself to those of you who don’t have enough time for a 12 step routine every morning.

Which ID is best for Me?
Now you know more about this product, next you need to determine which Clinique ID combination is best for you.
Start with working out your skin type. If you don’t know your skin type I have a fool-proof guide to determining your skin type. Following this you will know which base you need to select. There are choices for blemish prone, very dry/dry skin, normal/combination skin and there are also some universal choices. The cartridge choice is the part where this becomes fun. As you could choose multiple cartridges and use them interchangeably to target multiple needs each day. Or you can select the one that aligns most with your skin needs.
The cartridges target these goals respectively: Imperfections (this cartridge contains salicylic acid), lines and wrinkles, irritation and calm, pores and uneven texture (including AHAs), fatigue and finally brightening and evening skin tone.
Once you have selected your choices the two components arrive separate and can be separated and used alone if desired. However, the cartridge easily screws onto the moisturiser and comes with a pump top as standard.

Personally I bought the Dramatically different hydrating Jelly + base which is universal for all skin types and can be bought alone for £32. It is lightweight and oil free and is boosted with hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid acts as a humectant and help intensely hydrate the skin. This moisturiser also contains a combination of sunflower seed cake, barley extract and cucumber fruit extract to strengthen skin’s barrier and help retain the skin’s moisture balance.
I selected the green cartridge which is designed for calming and soothing. I thought this would be the best choice with my naturally sensitive skin and I have really enjoyed this combination. The natural ingredients in this cartridge also lend themselves to reducing redness. Which might be good for those with rosacea too.
