Best Affordable Vegan Beauty

Best Affordable Vegan Beauty

I know in a new year a lot of us year upon year make resolutions which may or may not keep. New eating habits are often up there on the list of choices. So you might have considered going vegan? Choosing to eat vegan for a month or even a whole year is one thing, but have you ever considered looking in your makeup bag? Wearing vegan makeup is easier than ever now with so many affordable vegan beauty buys out there. This is some of the best affordable vegan beauty that has been tried and tested by myself.

There has been a huge increase in vegan cosmetic brands over the last couple of years, a lot of brands are cruelty free but may contain a small amount of animal derived ingredients such as honey, beeswax, collagen and gelatine. So if you’re considering making the switch or just adding some vegan cosmetics to your makeup bag, here are some of my favourites.

1. The Award Winning, Makeup Revolution – Conceal and define

I have tried both the conceal and define foundation and the concealer. Both these products can be bought at superdrug, beauty bay or directly from the makeup revolution website.

This foundation is very build-able and doesn’t create a cake-face. With two layers I think this provides a full coverage. I must admit I think the shade range is good but the product is more suited to a comfortable – oily skin type than dry skin. This foundation on is only £10, it has got to be the best quality foundation for this high street price, making it a true affordable vegan beauty buy.

The concealer equally, is fantastic, has a great shade range and is a good price. The concealer has a doe-foot shaped application which is great for covering under eye dark circles. The consistency has pretty full coverage and isn’t drying on the skin. The product dries very quickly and is best set with powder almost immediately after application to try and reduce creasing. In terms of value for money however, I love it! If you needed any more reasons to try it then the price tag might just persuade you. This costs £7 for the super size concealer.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills – Matte Liquid Lipstick

These are a current favourite, and when I picked these I actually had no idea they were vegan. Being vegan is an added bonus.

These matte lipsticks provide a long wearing matte finish which isn’t drying on the lips. The consistency is buttery and applies easily and is super pigmented! The colours do dry fast so try to keep a steady hand or keep your concealer handy for any touch ups.

The set pictured is the ‘Mini liquid lipstick 3 piece set’. These mini lipsticks are in shades ‘Dazed’ – the Red one, ‘Bittersweet’ – the chocolate one and ‘Hudson’ – the deep peach one. The value of the set is £42 but costs just £26.

3. Best Affordable Vegan Beauty – KVD Beauty – Dagger liner

I have already reviewed this eye liner you can find my views on that here. This eye liner however is really black, smooth to apply and the newly designed brush tip makes it easy to create the perfect winged liner, however has since been discontinued but the replacement tattoo liner is even easier to use and only £19.

KVD Beauty as a brand creates all affordable vegan beauty products, so if you’re a fan of this eye liner and wanting to carry your vegan changes through the rest of the year, this is a good place to start for high quality vegan makeup.
