FFS Razor and Body Care Review

FFS Razor and Body Care Review

Its official, FFS won the best women’s razor in product of the year awards 2019. Now if that isn’t a good enough reason to at least explore the idea of getting one then maybe my opinions would help persuade you to try it out too.

I was kindly gifted the FFS gift set which retails at £27. This set contains the multi award winning, world’s first metal razor designed specifically for women. The razor can also be personalised with custom engraving. 4 razor refills, a clam shell blade protector, a travel bag and a shower hook. In the set there is also their award winning shave cream, pre-shave scrub and their post-shave balm. This gift set includes everything you need to get silky smooth and hydrated pins.

How a FFS Subscription Works

FFS have jumped aboard the subscription box service and have launched their very own subscription which you can select which items are included each month and it doesn’t need to be monthly either you can also select every 2 months too. You can subscribe from as little as £9 per month. which I think is very reasonable, and any additional products can be added as and when you like. You can also unsubscribe at anytime which for me is compulsory to know I am in control and can cancel or postpone any month I do not wish to receive the box.

My Review and Replacement Heads

The most famous razor from FFS is the rose gold one. You may have seen across social media. The handle pictured above is the newest one in style, Lily. I think the razor handles are weighted well and are really ergonomical and easy to hold and use. The razor comes with 4 blades as standard and for the handle and 4 blades it is only £9.

Use the code ‘STEELCITYMISS’ at the check out for 4 free blades on your first shop making it only £6.75. This discount code cannot be used against the gift set unfortunately.

I personally found using this razor incredible, It is not voted the Women’s best razor for nothing. It is great for a really close shave without the feeling of dry or irritated skin either. I thought the experience was really luxe and like no other razor I’ve used before. I have been using these razors from around 2019 before FFS rebranded. They were previously known as Friction Free Shaving. I cannot compliment the brand and the razors highly enough. I have since found out that if you were to cancel your subscription you can purchase the replacement heads alone in store or online here at Boots.

Recycling Scheme

FFS are also super savvy with their waste, they offer a free recycling scheme for your blades. You no longer need to request the recycling bag and you can now return the used blades in your subscription box you received through the post. Making recycling hassle free. These blades are then sent for specialist separation and each material is then recycled separately.

Now it is finally time to say goodbye to those non-recyclable disposable plastic razors of the past.

Additional Care Products

As pictured above there are also 3 additional products which you can add to your monthly or two-monthly subscription or of course can add as a one off to your order. The 3 additional care products they offer are the Shave cream, shave balm and shave scrub. All of which I found really enjoyable to use. These three products also help you get the most out of the Women’s best razor.

Shave Scrub

The shave scrub is designed as a pre-shave exfoliator. The exfoliator is packed with walnut husks which provide for a natural and gentle exfoliation. This exfoliator is great for preparing the skin helping lift away any dirt and remove dead skin cells. The scrub can also help clear pores and reduce shaving spots and ingrown hairs too. For the best application, apply in circular motions to your legs once your legs have soaked for at least 5 minutes in warm water allowing the hairs to soften for a closer shave.

Shave Cream

Women have inspired the design of this shave cream. The formula contains a mixture of manuka honey, shea butter and coconut oil for added moisture and helps create a barrier to prevent irritation. The shave cream helps prevent nicks and cuts while also having a unique formula which applies almost transparent for better visibility but still providing the easiest way to determine those missed areas. This innovative product also has a specialist formulation to help reduce friction during shaving too. To get the best results, shave in long upward strokes from the ankle upward without applying too much pressure.

Shave Balm

This post-shave balm is uniquely designed to compliment the other creams. Following shaving it provides a moisturising and cooling effect. Containing manuka honey too. This shave balm has anti-inflammatory properties and the addition of the cocoa butter too also helps provide deep hydration and condition to the skin, restoring the skin’s natural moisture balance. This balm is best patted on gently to the skin to ensure to irritation is caused by rubbing and the razor should then be dried and stored in a dry place following use.

I love a balm type moisturiser post shaving, two of the others I like to use are the soap and glory righteous butter and the Liz Earle body balm.
