Ever wondered what a spa day at Bannatyne is actually like? Is it worth the money? Here I am going to share with you my experience at Bannatyne Health Club and Spa
For my birthday I was bought a spa day for two by my boyfriend at Bannatyne’s. Having only ever been on one spa day before I was excited for the experience and the much needed relaxation.
Booking the Bannatyne spa Day was Easy
I received a voucher code for my spa day as it wasn’t bought directly from Bannatyne. The spa day was purchased from Buyagift.
Using my voucher code I went directly to the Bannatyne website and selected the Bannatyne club which was closest to me, for me this was the Barnsley club. Additionally using the website I was able to select the date and time I wanted, input the voucher code and hey presto it was booked. Simple as that. The website was very user friendly and intuitive making it completely hassle free.
Greeted upon arrival
Prior to your Bannatyne spa day you will be asked to complete some health documents which we had already prepared before arrival. When Kev and I arrived at the club we handed over our completed documents which included any medical conditions or allergies, making the rest of the day run more smoothly, might I add. We were offered use of towels and robes which we accepted at an additional charge. However included as part of the spa day package was a pair of flip flops and a woven bag which we could keep.
Upon arrival they also booked our afternoon tea for 1 O’clock which nicely followed our treatments. This was the perfect way to split up the day. Everything was fully organised and it was only 10am. I found this made the day feel more relaxing.
The staff couldn’t do enough to help.
Fabulous Treatments
Our deal included a facial, neck ,back and shoulder massage, bamboo leg massage and a pedicure.

Using all Elemis products, there was no worry of skin irritation. I also knew it would leave my skin feeling gorgeous because i’m a huge fan of Elemis.

The Facial included cleansing, polishing and moisturising balms. They used a mixture of different products wiping each one away with a hot cloth. The facial was like a dream leaving my skin feeling soft and moisturised.
The back, neck and shoulder massage was thoroughly relaxing, using some deep tissue techniques and just the right amount of pressure, I could feel the tension easing away.
The Bamboo leg massage was something new to me, they used a thick and heavy bamboo cane and using deep tissue techniques pressed the bamboo into the legs to ease any knots, lactic acid or tension in the legs.
The spa treatments came to a close with a OPI gel polish pedicure. The therapist filed down my natural nails and using a base coat, gel colour of my choice and top coat finished my treatments off.
Relaxation
Following the treatments the therapists gave us some tips to gain the most from the day. In order to remove the toxins moved during the treatments ensure you drink plenty of fluids . We were then taken into the ‘deep relaxation room’. We lay on the loungers while my nail polish dried listening to relaxing music surrounded by relaxing aromatics.
Bannatyne Barnsley also has a gym, Jacuzzi, steam room, pool and sauna. We spent most of the afternoon in the Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna but we had gone for a day of relaxation, and that was exactly what we did.
