Liz Earle is well known for her fabulous cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser. I have been a fan of this for a while. It is one of my go to cleansers throughout the warmer months. Finally, the beauty and lifestyle guru has launched new body additions to the cleanse and polish range.
If you are interested in hearing my opinions about the classic hot cloth cleanser, toner and moisturiser you can find my review here.
Cleanse and Polish Body
The cleanse and polish body wash comes with a mitt with 2 sides one a smoothing and delicate sponge and the opposite a rougher exfoliating side.
The body polish comes as standard in a 200ml squeeze tube with a soft touch plastic packaging. The packaging is gorgeous in the classic Liz Earle colours and features the well known and loved scent.
The cleanse and polish body comes in 2 scents. The original (the one I bought) and a lavender and vetiver version (which I have tried but was loved the classic best). The lavender scented body polish is designed as an awakening and refreshing body wash for mornings. The classic features essential oils and relaxing scents for an evening wind down.
Personally I love the cleanse and polish body. I think it makes your skin soft and is great for delicate and sensitive skin. I really like using the mitt. You can use the softer side if you don’t want to exfoliate daily, but luckily enough the exfoliating side of the mitt is gentle enough to exfoliate daily if you wish.
Skin Replenishing Body Balm
The skin replenishing body balm is designed to work in collaboration with the cleanse and polish body. Providing 48 hours of hydration as the body polish promises too.
The body balm features ingredients which are new to the Liz Earle range and don’t feature in any of her other products (so far). There is shea Butter, rice bran oil and black oat seed extract. If you are like me and had eczema as a child you will remember the oat baths you needed to have to soothe your sore, red and itchy skin. In other words, this body balm is like the “grown-up” version of this.
The body balm also comes in a lavender scent which similarly I tried, but chose the original mainly because I prefer the classic smell but that all comes down to personal opinion, of course.
Above all, I find this balm soothing, gentle and great for dehydrated, irritated or sensitive skin. I find it particularly soothing on any really dry, eczema type patches. Since using a combination of these two products I have really found a big difference mainly on my legs but I digress.
conclusively, if you’re looking to a mid-range price point body cream which is suitable for eczema, psoriasis, dry prone skin. I would definitely recommend giving this a try. The only down fall (in my opinion) is that the balm is very thick and takes a while to soak in. This therefore isn’t ideal for mornings before getting dressed. Unless you have time to wait for it to soak in of course.
