The Prince of Wales pub Sheffield, located on Ecclesall Road is opening again following a full makeover.
This pub oozes luxury cocktail bar and romantic restaurant all under one roof! The rooms have been decorated with an opulent colour scheme. Fitted with dimmed warm lighting and decorated with metallic eye-catching modern furnishings and decor. From the moment I stepped inside this newly renovated pub I was transported to South Kensington/Chelsea.
First Impressions
Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the staff and shown the newly added gin infusions bar. On the end of the main marble topped bar is an array of fresh fruit, infusions and botanicals in their uniquely designed gin bar. These are the perfect addition to your favourite gin tipple. This fabulous idea gives you added luxury and a flavoursome gin experience. I loved this added touch personally I thought it really added to the experience. I can just imagine a night out with the girls, sitting around the high bar stools sipping gin and cocktails in a sophisticated atmosphere.
We were given a sample of some of the starters and main courses in a single bite size amount. Every single one was delicious! It made it difficult to decide which was our favourite.
The meal
We were kindly given a 3 course meal in exchange for honest opinions which you are reading right now. I had the deep fried brie with chutney which was served with garnish this was absolutely delicious, hot and melted in the centre instantly when I cut into it.
For my main meal I had a fillet steak served with thick cut chips, a shallot tart and beef dripping sauce. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection with gorgeous flavour and the beef dripping sauce was absolutely to die for. The shallot tart I was unsure what to expect from this but the balance of sweet and savoury with the blue stilton topping was absolutely incredible and I could have eaten this as a main meal alone.
The pudding was absolutely to die for, I had a chocolate and peanut butter bomb. This instagram worthy dessert was a combination of some favourites with a modern twist. This dessert was served as a chocolate ball which you melted with your hot salted caramel sauce to reveal a filling of peanut butter cream and sticky toffee pudding all served with a helping of vanilla ice cream.
Overall opinions
Honestly although I was gifted this meal and drinks these opinions are entirely my own and completely honest. I have not had such an indulgent, and delicious meal in a very long time. Had I paid for this meal I would have been extremely satisfied with the value for money and most certainly left with a smile on my face.
If you love the sound of this place.Book Here I will probably see you there as I will most certainly be returning as this is one of the best meal experiences I have had in Sheffield.
