Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

This morning I opened a brand new Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. This was my 3rd bottle and realised somehow I hadn’t not yet written a post reviewing it. So as you can imagine I am a big fan of this formula. The Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant was the first ever powder exfoliant, but has since gone on to win countless awards and seen the rise of numerous copycat products. If that’s not a sign of how good it is, wait until you see the ingredients list and hear my thoughts.

What is the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant?

You may have used physical exfoliants in the past, which I am personally not a huge fan of. There is also some science to show that some are too harsh for your skin and can cause more harm than good.

You may have also used, chemical exfoliants which are your AHA’s and BHA’s. If you are not familiar which AHA’s and BHA’s you can read my post on chemical exfoliants here.

Here is where Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant comes in. It is a formula which is gentle enough to be used daily and uses non-abrasive exfoliation and is enhanced with powerful actives and enzymes. As I mentioned above, this is a powder exfoliant and a little goes a long way. A small amount of powder exfoliant is needed for the full face, neck and décolleté.

The Ingredients

The Rice-based powder activates upon contract with water, releasing a skin-polishing blend of papain, salicylic acid and rice enzymes.

The Daily Microfoliant is also infused with a brightening complex. The exfoliating powder features phytic acid, white tea and liquorice to help balance uneven tone, while colloidal oatmeal and allantoin soothe the skin.

How to Use The Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

This is one of those products that definitely works best when it is used correctly. My initial thoughts on this product were different to my thoughts once I knew how to use it correctly.

You need about a teaspoon amount of the powder formula onto very wet hands. You create a creamy, foamy paste by rubbing hands together. once the formula is well activated and no grainy texture remains it is time to start circular motions all over the face and neck. Once well massaged into the skin rinse away thoroughly with warm water.

My Opinions

I absolutely adore this product. For me it has been in my routine for around 3 years now and one bottle lasts a really long time. It is gentle enough to use daily, however I usually use it around 2-3 times per week. The Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant is £55 for 74g. 74g doesn’t sound much product but used 2-3 times per week, you can expect one bottle to last 9 months. If you just want to try it out you can also nab 13g for £14.

I also love that the the container is now refillable and you can buy the refill pouch of 74g for £58 use code: STEELCITYMISSSPH for 15% off
