Sunday Riley Skincare Review

Sunday Riley are known for their capability of blending proven skincare ingredients with beneficial botanicals to deliver results in their fast acting skincare formulas. Believe it or not Sunday Riley is also a female founder owned brand which are not only cruelty free but an advocate for sustainability. I’ve tried a selection of Sunday Riley’s products which helped deliver brighter, clearer skin in just a few short weeks. Keep reading if you want to hear more about the products I used.

Sunday Riley Blue Moon Cleanser

I’m sure that by now you know how much of a fan I am of a cleansing balm. If not you can go read my opinions on the Elemis Pro-Collagen cleansing balm or the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing balm. But the Sunday Riley Blue Moon cleansing balm was up there on my wish list for cleansing balms to try. I first tried this cleansing balm a couple of years back when I got it in a limited edition Glossy Box.

This cleansing balm is a buttery balm with a sugar based exfoliant in it. It is hard to explain the texture of this balm as it is soft but has a gentle exfoliating scrub feel to it. The Blue Tansy, German chamomile and tangerine and swet orange essential oils all help contribute to the soothing, calming and luxurious scent of the balm. The balm also includes Moringa and cocoa butter which both provide antioxidant and protective properties. I felt like this balm delivered a clean feeling without feeling stripped. This is a beautiful way to introduce a gentle physical exfoliant into your routine if you have sensitive skin. My initial thoughts were that this balm was unusual in texture however as I continued to use it I grew to love it more and more. This balm retails at £46 for 100g which I think is reasonable for the high quality.

C.E.O 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum

Designed for brightening the skin and delivering that daily antioxidant protection this Sunday Riley vitamin C serum is just divine. This is up there with some of my favourite Vitamin C products I’ve used. This serum I would describe as being lightweight feel like a serum but has the texture of a light cream. I found that it definitely delivers an instant glow and over time contributes to that much desired bright skin. You can use this serum both morning and night unless you’re using a retinol at night and then these two ingredients shouldn’t be used together.

This vitamin C serum contains THD Ascorbate which is an extremely stable and oil soluble form of vitamin C. What does this mean for you? This means that not only is it going to be less likely to degrade it is also less irritating on the skin and the oil solubility means that it has enhanced penetration into the skin. If that wasn’t enough already the formula also contains glycolic acid which is an AHA which helps refine the skin texture and balance the pH of the serum.

This serum retails at £70 for 30ml which I think is very reasonable for this very stable, hydrating and brightening serum.

Sunday Riley C.E.O Vitamin C Rich Hydrating Cream

Moving onto the C.E.O serum’s sister, the vitamin C hydrating cream. The first thing I noticed about this cream is its delicious citrus scent, it instantly drew me in. I have always been a fan of fragranced skincare; which I know is unusual for someone with sensitive skin. However ,this cream is divine and caused me no sensitivity at all.

This cream features 5% vitamin C of the same stable and powerful formula. This cream is a light weight formula but it a medium thickness in consistency. It applies to the skin beautifully and instantly delivers a glow too. I found it worked perfectly in tandem with the C.E.O. serum. This cream is best applied following your serum and before your facial oil and SPF. This cream is £60 for 50g which I think is at the upper limit of what I would be willing to spend on this cream but I think it is beautiful and would make a lovely gift for someone.
