I have found myself living in the city of Sheffield for just over two years now. There have definitely been times when I have walked past the front of Smoke BBQ and thought “that smells amazing”. I have had friends recommend it to me but I hadn’t tried it myself.
So I took a trip there to indulge and give you my honest opinion on this Sheffield eatery.
Atmosphere
I found as I walked in the door of smoke I was instantly hit by the inviting smokey, woody smells. If I wasn’talready hungry I was now.
The atmosphere was buzzing, the restaurant was busy but the staff were very accommodating. Going on a Thursday evening around 9 I expected the restaurant to be quiet but I was pleasantly surprised by the number of people inside as this is a rather large restaurant.
Food
As this is the part you really want to know about, I will get right to it.
I ordered the Brisket Plate. This dish came with a choice of side and twice cooked chips. When the food arrived it was hot, it looked appetising but wow was it a huge portion. This was not a sharing meal but personally i could have halved the portion.
This meal was really tasty with a lot of the smokey spices coming through from the brisket rub. The selections of sauces on the table were also just as gorgeous and complimented the meal very well. I must admit I very much enjoyed my meal, however I did not manage to finish it.

Drinks
There was a large drinks selection available comprising of a reasonable selection of beers and brews, a larger than expected selection of wines and a tempting array of cocktails. Obviously with the to-be-expected selection of soft drinks.
I was unfortunately designated driver for the evening so my drinks of choice were soft drinks.
We finished off our meals with their delicious shakes, served in a jam jar with a straw these quirky drinks were packed full of flavour. I had banana and honey and my partner had chocolate. Obviously I sampled them both but if you’re wanting my opinion, banana was by far the best and I am not usually a banana milkshake fan.
Location
Located in St. Paul’s Place, Sheffield this is a fantastic location. Right next to the winter gardens a regular passing point for locals and tourists it doesn’t get much easier to find or get to.
