Dyson Airwrap Review – Everything you need to know

Dyson Airwrap Review – Everything you need to know

This post has been a VERY long time coming! It has been almost a three years since I got my Dyson airwrap and It has definitely been sufficient time for me to finally give you a honest and in-depth Dyson Airwrap review. I can now let you know absolutely everything you need to know before taking the plunge and buying one.

Warranty and Maintenance of Your Airwrap

It might seem strange for me to list this as one of the first points to bare in mind. Whether you have just bought it or considering buying a dyson airwrap, I would urge you to keep this in mind. I recently had a little scare and this part is to highlight any potential issues before they arise!

Firstly the warranty, it comes with a 2 year guarantee (UK). In the UK it is standard for electrical items to have 1 year guarantee. As you would expect, the airwrap has an extended guarantee provided you register the product. So please REGISTER YOUR PRODUCT!

Secondly the maintenance, this is where I had my scare. When a hairdryer costs £450 you want it to serve you well for years. It should be considered inevitable that you would need to care for it for it to last a long time. However I completely overlooked the maintenance part. When you receive the airwrap complete styler, it comes with a circular brush which can be used to clean the filter regularly. I neglected to clean mine for 9 months and it cut out from overheating. I had a real panic until I looked up on the Dyson website some troubleshooting tips and this came up first. You will be glad to hear it is back in full working condition *touch wood*.

Get a Good Deal on Your New Dyson Airwrap!

If you’re a beauty junkie like me,you will already have a Boots Advantage Card, if you don’t I would recommend getting one and here is why.

I would 100% recommend waiting til Boots have one of their points boost events on. This will get you triple points giving you around £80 in advantage card points when buying the airwrap.

This means you can go back and either buy some other beauty favourites or even your regular, body wash, shampoo and toothpaste for the rest of the year.

The Dyson Airwrap Complete Styler

As I mentioned above, the Dyson complete styler costs £479. So it is not a cheap purchase and should be a well considered purchase in my opinion.

This styler comes complete with 6 attachments. 1 for regular drying, a barrel brush, 2 smoothing brushes for different hair types and 2 curling wands for loose or tight curls. My personal favourite attachment is the tight curling wand, it creates beautiful ringlets which last overnight when slept on.

The airwrap takes your hair from wet to beautifully styled in less than 30 minutes!

The quick drying and styling time is the main reason I love this styler. I didn’t think it would be so good but it really is worth the money! If you like to style your hair, and save time while doing so, this is perfect.

Review and Images

Here is the part that youre probably here for, my Dyson Airwrap review. The styler takes a little while to get used to. You will need to practise a little before you achieve perfect glamorous locks however, it is worth putting the time in. The main pitfall for this styler in my opinion is the barrel length of the curling wands. I have very long hair and it can be hard to fit the full length of my hair on the wand at one time. In order to get perfect curls I must curl small amounts of hair.

However, if you have shorter hair this will be perfect! My other smaller gripe would be that depending on the style you prefer and your hair type you will not necessarily eliminate the use of any heat tool again. For example, I have naturally wavy frizzy hair. The smoothing brushes do certainly tame my mane but it is not completely straight. For a truly sleek finish I would need to do an additional 5/10 minutes with a straightener to complete the look.

I have been informed you can buy additional longer barrel wands from the Dyson website however they come in at £30 each and you will need 2 so you can have the wands which curl in both directions.

Overall my opinion on the Dyson airwrap is one with only compliments. I love it! I think it is worth every penny! Personally I love to have curly hair so this definitely works in my favour; but I think it would make the ultimate gift that will be used time and time again.
